2027 INTERNATIONAL WILDBIRD PHOTO COMPETITION IS OPEN

The Bird and Nature Festival has launched the 36th edition of its international photo contest dedicated to birds and other winged species, open to all photographers, both amateur and professional.

Online registration is open from September 1, to November 30, 2026.

Winners and selected photographers will have their images displayed during the Festival, which will take place from April 17 to 25, 2027.

The image selection process is managed entirely from start to finish by the jury members.

Each category is an opportunity to showcase your finest images and express your creativity, whatever your level.

Submit Your Photo

What are the terms of entry?

Participation and photo submission must be completed online.

Each entrant may submit up to 15 photos and must pay an entry fee of €2 per photo.

Images must remain faithful to the original shot, without manipulation or any technique that would mislead the viewer or misrepresent the natural environment.

Photos must be submitted according to the following guidelines:

Format: JPEG
Aspect ratio: 3:2, resized to 3,500 pixels on the longest side (approximately 2,333 pixels on the shortest side)
Cropping: limited to a maximum of 20% of the image area

What are the prizes?

A total prize pool rewarded across 8 categories:

Grand Prix: €1,500 offered by the Festival

1st Prize in each category: €800

Public Choice Award: €500 (awarded to the photo receiving the most votes during the exhibition)

Each winner will be invited to the Award Ceremony taking place on Saturday, April 17, 2027.

What about ethics?

Entrants must not disrupt, disturb, or harm wildlife for photographic purposes. Photos must only feature wild species captured in their natural habitat.

Photographs of domestic, captive, baited, or trained animals are strictly prohibited, as are images showing or encouraging clear disturbance to any species.

It is paramount to avoid any action that could cause stress, endanger a species, or damage its habitat for the sake of taking a photo.

Photographers must hold the necessary permits to photograph protected species and be familiar with the regulations in force within the natural areas where they practice their craft.
